New Year's Resolution

I apologize for not posting when I said I would, the last few months have been hectic to say the least.

I was inspired by a friend to challenge myself this year.  I would like to show my projects that I accomplish and work on throughout the year.  My new Year's resolution is to blog and each month to make a post about a project, whether small or big that recycle's everyday tin cans, or old cloths that you really don't want to get rid of.

In the mien time you can follow me on my Pinterest: http://www.pinterest.com/knnnnnn/

It's amazing what you can find on Pinterest!  So many crochet ideas, my mind is bursting with creativity!  And some of the DIY projects are so cool!  I can't wait to show you how my DIY projects go this year!

Where to start?

You have an old pair of jeans and you don't know what to do with them.  You've had them since you were born and have quite worn out the knees of them or the hems or even near the pockets.  But you find yourself, unable to let go of them, they have been your friend and companion for as long as you can remember!

Don't throw them out!  Here on this blog I can help you find a new use for them, help you get the most use out of your favorite items!

Before I start my DIY projects and then bore you out with my love to travel how about I tell you a little about myself?

My name is Kelly Marie.  I come from a long military background, and was practically dragged across the states and Europe as I grew into a young woman. I love to travel, and have been to 4 continents and next to 20 different countries, living in 3 of them for a time.  I love traveling as a result and have already decided on my next great adventure to another continent and country!  Among other things, I love to write stories, play games on my computer, hike, swim, and swoon over a good romance movie, even if it happens to be an Anime!

In the days before we had computers to ourselves we only had the one and I spent most of my time playing with my dolls or learning a new crochet stitch.  I would spend a lot of my allowance on yarn growing up.  These days I can't stand to not keep my fingers moving.  I always have to be doing something!

My first project will be showing you how I make the summer dresses I am making for my friend and I.  In a few weeks we will be at the beach and need something cool and fun to wear on the boardwalk!

I will also update you on the progress of how I turned a disaster of a maxi dress into a spaghetti strap summer dress.  For the Black and white one I have pictures (or will), unfortunately all I can say for the green dress is show you the end result since I could not find my mini-camera at the time when I started working on the dress.

I will feature these creations in the next blog post! I hope that you read my posts and enjoy the projects as much as I do!
